Why an established K2 solution still needs customer analysis
K2 solution analysis defines how an established application should be adapted for a new customer. Similar processes can still have different roles, interfaces and acceptance criteria.
Define the scope through K2 solution analysis
Two organisations may both need risk management or a Service Desk. That does not mean they approve decisions in the same way, use the same information or assign work to the same roles.
Experience with an established solution helps identify useful questions and design options. A successful implementation still needs to answer those questions for the organisation that will use it.
Examine the decisions behind the screens
A form shows only part of the process. Behind it are rules about who may enter information, which actions are permitted and when another person must become involved.
Analysis makes those rules explicit. It helps establish where the solution can follow an existing approach and where changes are needed.
Check the surrounding systems
An integration that is available in one environment may require a different interface or permission model in another. Reporting may depend on data that the new customer does not yet collect.
These issues affect scope and sequencing. Addressing them early helps define a realistic implementation rather than discovering dependencies after development has started.
Use experience to make better decisions
Web CheckIn’s K2 work includes risk management, service management, document workflows and information integration. We draw on that experience when designing a new implementation, while adapting it to the customer’s requirements.
The commercial scope follows that analysis. We usually work on an hourly basis and can also agree project-based delivery for a defined scope.
If one of our solution areas matches your needs, begin with a discussion of your process and the environment in which it must work.
